With an intention to develop new entrepreneurs and utilize innovations from university, the Mae Fah Luang University Business Incubator held an herbal skincare products workshop on 12-14 June 2019 at the M-Square building, MFU. The workshop was supported by the Office of Higher Education Commission to help entrepreneurs to enhance product quality and create the right market plan for their business with the knowledge and innovation transferred from the university.
This short-term workshop divided into two parts which were lecture session and laboratory session. The workshop brought in Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mayuree Kanlayavattanakul, a lecturer at the School of Cosmetic Science to give lectures on basic knowledge and regulation on skin care products as well as the application of herbs in products; and Ms. Phaninthorn Sitthiphong, a lecturer at the School of Cosmetic Science, to give lecture on marketing and business plan for skin cosmetic products.
Moreover, the participants had a chance to learn and practice how to make and evaluate the quality of gel, serum and essence recipes in the laboratory under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Nattaya Lourith, a lecturer at the School of Cosmetic Science.
Overall, this workshop received the very positive feedback as the participants could learn how to enhance the production process and broaden their product in other related fields. Moreover, the information about the investment and pricing helps the entrepreneurs to create the right plan for their business.
