MFU and SCISOC are Ready to Hold the 45th Congress on Science and Technology of Thailand

     On 1 July 2019, the President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayaporn Wattanasiri; Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit;  the President of the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Napavarn Noparatnaraporn and Chairperson of the 45th Congress on Science and Technology of Thailand (STT45),  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saiwarun Chaiwanichsiri attended the press conference for the 45th Congress on Science and Technology of Thailand (STT45) at Mae Fah Luang University.

    The Congress on Science and Technology of Thailand (STT) is one of the largest annual national scientific meetings for national and international scientists and technologists as well as young Thai scientists from varied fields of science and technology.

    This year, Mae Fah Luang University and the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King will host STT 45 under the theme of “Seedling Innovation for Sustainable Development” from 7 to 9 October 2019. The opening ceremony will be graciously presided over by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 7 October 2019.

    The Congress will be highlighted by the keynote lecture by Professor Robert H. Grubbs from the California Institute of Technology who won the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and honorable lectures from the 2019 Outstanding Scientist(s) of Thailand and several renowned invited speakers from around the world. Moreover, there will be the special sessions on Crystallography, panel discussions and hundreds of contributed papers from 14 various areas of Science and Technology. The Congress also includes the high school science project competition to select the Best of the Best Projects of the year as well as exhibitions on advanced scientific and technological knowledge and instrumentation.

    Being a co-host of this congress is very special to Mae Fah Luang University since it will be celebrating the upcoming 21th anniversary of its establishment and the 20th Anniversary of the creation of the School of Science. The meeting is a significant step for the university in advancing the quality of teaching and research excellence in order to develop and create innovations for the sustainable future.  

    Furthermore, MFU’s schools and research units are all in readiness to hold the international symposium on Integrative Medicine and Sustainable Cosmetic and Beauty Innovation in collaboration with the STT 45.   Additionally, there will be two special workshops: “Fungal Evolution, Classification and Its Role in Plant Evolution and Climate Change” organized by the Centre of Excellence in Fungal Research and “Texture Analysis for Quality Measurement of products” held by the School of Agro-Industry.  Seminars on four vital issues including Exploring the Knowledge Boundary of Haze: From Scientific Findings to Actionable Intelligence Policy; Innovation in Applied Biomedical Science; Dialogue for Ecological Regeneration: Engaging with Environmental Knowledge in the North of Thailand; and The Developmental Border City will also be provided for participants.
