Further Collaboration between the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Bangkok and MFU

  On 26 August 2019, H.E. Mr. Tshewang C. Dorji, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Thailand paid a visit to Mae Fah Luang University to discuss further academic collaboration between the embassy and Mae Fah Luang University.    

  Bhutan and Mae Fah Luang University have a long-standing relationship and have worked together for academic cooperation especially in field of the Cosmetic Science for many years. Since the establishment, MFU has offered 38 scholarships for Bhutanese students, of which 20 students have successfully graduated and 18 students are now studying at MFU in various fields.  

  Apart from scholarships, the Royal Bhutanese Embassy and MFU have planned to expand cooperation in student exchange, visiting scholar, and research in the areas of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Cosmetic Science, Nursing, Sufficiency Economy, and Mycology (Lingzhi, Cordyceps) 

  In addition, H.E. Mr. Tshewang C. Dorji and the President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayaporn Wattanasiri discussed the possibility of holding a training course for Professional Nursing as well as an Entrepreneur education in Cosmetics business for Bhutanese students.

  Overall, this visit from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan will lead to further fruitful academic activities in promoting human resource development for meeting the needs of people in both countries. The exchange of people will also contribute to a deeper friendship and understanding between Thailand and Bhutan.
