A Warm Welcome to New Members of MFU’s International Family

On 30 August 2019, the Global Relations Division organised the International Students Orientation for helping new international students become more familiar with MFU and each other. In this first semester of academic year 2019, MFU welcomed 166 new international students including 126 undergraduates and 40 graduates from 16 countries in Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa. MFU also welcomed 38 exchange students from 8 countries including Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Over the past 21 years, MFU has welcomed international students from around the globe with an effort to promote cross-cultural awareness and getting them ready for a fast-changing world.

In addition, new international students got to know more about the offices, facilities and important resource centres at MFU through the campus tour activity. During the campus tour, the seniors also intimately explained and provided a few tips to new international students about how to adjust to university life. Following the campus tour, there were the presentation providing important information about MFU’s services and its rules and regulations from various service divisions at the university.

In the welcoming address, MFU Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Gajaseni expressed congratulations to the new students for their bravely deciding to study here at MFU because studying abroad, especially in a country where English is not used as the first language, is very challenging. The Vice President also encouraged students to put their efforts into learning new knowledge, enjoying new life experience and adjusting to the new environment. Dr. Nantana added that MFU will provide academic resources and groom all students to be professional graduates and well-rounded personnel in the challenging and highly competitive world.
