MFU Leads Thai Universities in THE World University Rankings 2020

Mae Fah Luang University was grouped in the 601-800 band in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) 2020 World University Rankings, released on 11 September 2019.

This year is the first time for Mae Fah Luang University to participate in this ranking. Out of 1,400 universities across 92 countries (16 of which were Thai higher education institutions), Mae Fah Luang University was ranked in the 601-800 tier, alongside Mahidol University.

MFU scored highly in the research citation and international outlook categories. The high scores for research citations highlight the prominence of MFU’s continued support, influence and inspiration for its researchers to build knew bodies of knowledge and disseminate them to the global audience.

Moreover, the proportion of international students, international staff and international collaboration reflects MFU’s internationalisized environment, a factor that attracts undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as faculty members, from all over the world.

MFU will make all the necessary effort to maintain its national academic leadership status and to make our institution a world class university that serves society with high-quality research, teaching and internationalized activities.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry Income (knowledge transfer).
