On 28 October 2019, the International Scholarship Students Meet the President event was held to officially welcome all international scholarship students to Mae Fah Luang University, one of the excellent universities in Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). This special event also provided an opportunity for all scholarship students to meet and socialize with friends from other schools and countries.
Since 2005, MFU has awarded scholarships to 144 scholars from different countries which 90 students have successfully graduated and 54 students are now studying at MFU. This academic year 2019, MFU has welcomed 17 new scholars including 6 bachelor’s degree students, 7 master’s degree students and 4 doctoral degree student from Bhutan, China, the Gambia, Indonesia, Laos and Myanmar.
The main purpose of MFU scholarships is to help talented students achieve their educational goals and become valuable human resource for developing their own countries and the world to achieve sustainable development in the future.The scholarships are also expected to promote international atmosphere in MFU as well as further sustain the friendship and understanding between Thailand and neighbouring countries.
