Exchange Maximization Expo and International Cultural Festival 2019

On 3 November 2019, Mae Fah Luang University and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) held two special events: “Exchange Maximization Expo and International Cultural Festival 2019 for commemorating the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme and promoting internationalization at Mae Fah Luang University.

The Exchange Maximization Expo was held for MFU students to expand their views and gain better understanding on exchange programme through panel discussions.

In the Companies’ View toward MFU Graduate session, Ms. Supit Boonjun, Human Resource Manager from Holiday Villages (Thailand) Ltd.; Mr. Weerapon Pliasanthia, Assistant Manager from the Talent Recruitment Center at SCG Packaging Public Company Limited; and Ms. Anongnuch Thakam, Managing Director from Cosmehealth Channel Company Limited highlighted the graduates’ skills and attributes employers look for including creativity, communication skill, passion to achieve the goal, networking, time management, languages and multicultural competence.

Furthermore, participants were inspired through the shared experiences on motivations, challenges, and benefits of studying abroad to their education and career from MFU exchange programme alumni and scholarship student. The speakers also pointed out that studying abroad offered an opportunity to further studies, develop understanding of diversity, learn foreign language, increase employability, and create connections. Moreover, the most important thing is a courage to move out of comfort zone.

Additionally, the International Cultural Festival 2019 offered a chance for Thai and international students from Africa, Bhutan, China, Indonesia, Laos, and Myanmar to organize and present their countries through traditional food, performances, national costumes, and traditional games. Other participants also had a chance to appreciate diverse cultures and broaden their cross-cultural perspectives.

Overall, the enthusiastic participation of all students contributed greatly to the international learning environment at MFU.
