MFU’s Bachelor of Science Programme in Food Science and Technology Receives Global Approval

Recently, Mae Fah Luang University’s Bachelor of Science Programme in Food Science and Technology of the School of Agro-Industry at MFU was approved by the Higher Education Review Board (HERB) of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the United States of America for 2020-2025.

The IFT undergraduate programme approval MFU has received can be considered as the ‘mark of quality’ in that our standard of food science education has met the high IFT Undergraduate Education Standards for Degrees in Food Science. The MFU Food Science and Technology programme aims to develop graduates with knowledge and skill in Food Technology in order to make significant contributions to the development in food manufacturing and exporting industries. The course covers raw material handling, processing, quality assurance and control, product development and marketing, as well as seminar, special problem and cooperative education so as to enable the student to think, to solve problems and to pursue careers responsibility and ethically.

Since 1939, the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) has been a forum for passionate science of food professionals and technologists to collaborate, learn, and contribute all with the goal of inspiring and transforming collective scientific knowledge into innovative solutions for the benefit of all people around the world. The Higher Education Review Board (HERB) was created to assist programs through assessment of learning outcomes, to enhance excellence in food science education, and to assist programs to gain IFT approval.
