This year, out of 766 universities across 85 countries (19 of which were Thai higher education institutions), Mae Fah Luang University was ranked 9th in Thailand and ranked in the 401-600 tier in the world ranking for the overall score. MFU scored highly for the gender equality (SDG 5). The high scores for gender equality highlight the prominence of MFU research on the study of gender, its policies on gender equality and commitment to recruiting and promoting women. The SDG itself phrases this explicitly as supporting women.
Moreover, Mae Fah Luang University’s top four scores out of the remaining SDGs are as follows:
SDG 5: Gender equality was ranked in the 201-300 group;
SDG 3: Good health and well-being was ranked in the 301-400 group;
SDG 15: Life on land was ranked 100th;
SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals was ranked in the 401-600 group.
MFU will make all the necessary effort to maintain its national academic leadership status and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with high-quality research, teaching and international collaboration.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach and stewardship.
