MFU Joins the Chiangrai Tea & Coffee Month 2020

On 30 June 2020, Ms. Karuna Dechatiwong Na Ayuttaya, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Chiang Rai Office; Dr. Piyaporn Chueamchaitrakun, Director of the Tea and Coffee Institute of Mae Fah Luang University and Chiangrai Coffee Lovers jointly organised a live-stream of “TEA & COFFEE TALKS #3 Now and Next: the Next Step of Tea and Coffee Industry” at Wang Put Tan Tea Plantation, Chiang Rai province.

This live-stream conference included talks and a kick-off of the “Chiangrai Tea & Coffee Month 2020”. This year the new normal tourism is promoted to encourage tourists to visit Chiang Rai province, a major tea and coffee destination in Thailand. The Tourism Authority of Thailand provides the recommended selections from over 40 coffee and tea shops in Chiang Rai complying with the good hygiene and preventive measures.

Therefore, the entire month of July is dedicated to promoting tea and coffee activities including:

1. Tea & Coffee Knowledge: Know more about Coffee: Join the online training on coffee processing on 25 July 2020 from 13.00 - 14.00 hrs. through Zoom presented by the Tea and Coffee Institute of Mae Fah Luang University and Alexta Coffee (30 participants only)

2. Tea & Coffee Knowledge : Know more about TEA: Join the online training on tea processing on 29 July 2020 from 10.00 - 11.00 hrs. through Zoom presented by the Director of Tea and Coffee Institute of Mae Fah Luang University and Alexta Coffee (30 participants only)

3. Tea & Coffee Challenge: Collect five points from the participating shops to get a special cotton mask and collect 10 points to have a chance to get the special menu from baristas in Omakaze event

4. Popular Café: Like and share the favourite coffee or tea shops shown in Facebook page: Chaing Rai Tea & Coffee Month with public as well as specify reason and add a hashtag #chiangraiteaandcoffeemonth to get the Amazing Thailand backpack
