MFU leads Thai Universities in ‘THE’ 2021 World University Rankings

      MFU retains top spot for the 2nd consecutive year in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. Out of 1,500 universities across 93 countries (17 of which were Thai higher education institutions), Mae Fah Luang University was ranked in the 601-800 tier (joint 7th in ASEAN) alongside Mahidol University and Chulalongkorn University in the latest THE 2021 World University Rankings, released on 2 September 2020.

MFU performed the strongest in citations at 60.4 and international outlook at 52.7. The high scores for research citations highlight the prominence of MFU’s continued support, influence and inspiration for its researchers to build knew bodies of knowledge and disseminate them to the global audience.

Moreover, the proportion of international students, international staff and international collaboration reflects MFUs internationalisized environment, a factor that attracts undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as faculty members, from all over the world.

MFU will make all the necessary effort to maintain its national academic leadership status and to make our institution a world class university that serves society with high-quality research, teaching and internationalized activities.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching 30% (the learning environment); Research 30% (volume, income and reputation); Citations 30% (research influence); International outlook 7.5% (staff, students and research); and Industry Income 2.5% (knowledge transfer).
