MFU and KMU Sign MoU to Strengthen Medical Education Development

    On 20 October 2020, the President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri and the President of Kunming Medical University, Prof. Li Song signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for further academic cooperation. The MoU signing ceremony was held as a part of the 2020 Online Forum on Education Cooperation in Southeast Asia by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and Kunming Medical University in China.

    This MOU marks the renewal of fruitful academic cooperation between Mae Fah Luang University and Kunming Medical University under the earlier MOU that signed on 2 June 2015. MFU has joined the South and Southeast Asia Medical Education and Service Alliance (SSAMESA). Moreover, the executive team from Mae Fah Luang University attended the inaugural ceremony of the SSAMESA and gave a speech under a topic of “the opportunities and challenges higher medical education is facing” at Kunming Medical University on 12 July 2019. Furthermore, two lecturers from the School of Medicine participated in the training course of Rational Drug Use for Health Specialists of Southeast and South Countries at Kunming Medical University during 11-18 July 2019. 

    Altogether, under the new Memorandum of Understanding, MFU will reinforce cooperation and expand academic activities especially exchange of students, exchange of faculty members, and joint research with Kunming medical University to produce quality healthcare professionals and generate more health-related research and innovations.
