On 27 October 2020, Mae Fah Luang University Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Gajaseni welcomed a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, led by Assistant to Cultural Attaché, Ms. Deb MAK and Cultural Affairs Assistant, Ms. Kulakit Chaiamnuay. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen relations as well as explore the possibility of academic and research cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and MFU.
MFU’ executives also shared the university’s roles in the Greater Mekong Subregion. As the education institution, MFU has conducted research projects to support the local community development in the areas of border trade, cross-border healthcare, waste management, migrant workers, and economic impacts of hydropower development.
Altogether, the visit from the U.S. Embassy in Thailand provided the chance for MFU to take further action in support Thailand and the region to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
