Law Lecturer Appointed to the PCA’s Specialized Panel of Scientific and Technical Experts

    Mae Fah Luang University would like to congratulate Assistant Professor Dr.Chukeat Noichim, Head of International Law, the School of Law who has been appointed to the Specialized Panel of Scientific and Technical Experts pursuant to the PCA Outer Space Rules (Optional Rules for Arbitration of Disputes Relating to Outer Space Activities) by the International Bureau of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). The term of appointment is six years and effective as of 20 October 2020. Assistant Professor Dr.Chukeat Noichim is one of four representatives of Thailand nominated by the Thai government.

    Dr. Chukeat Noichim received a Ph.D. in Law from the International Institute of Air & Space Law, Leiden University, the Netherlands. He is currently a law professor at the School of Law, Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand. He has numerous national and international publications. His book "The ASEAN Space Organization: Legal Aspects and Feasibility" is widely used as a basis for regional discussions on space cooperation. He has been an active representative of Thailand at the Meeting of the Legal Sub-committee of United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space and invited to numerous international conferences and workshops.

    The Permanent Court of Arbitration established in 1899 is an intergovernmental organization with 122 contracting parties. The PCA provides a forum for the resolution of international disputes through arbitration and other peaceful means.
