The UKPSF is a standard system developed by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the United Kingdom aims to support the initial and continuing professional learning of all staff engaged in teaching and supporting learning, and provide a mechanism for recognition of quality and innovation in teaching and learning practice. The framework consists of three dimensions: the areas of activity undertaken by teachers and support staff, core knowledge needed to carry out those activities at the appropriate level and professional values that individuals performing these activities should exemplify. Moreover, UKPSF recognizes four levels of fellowship including Associate Fellow (AFHEA), Fellow (FHEA), Senior Fellow (SFHEA) and Principal Fellow (PFHEA).
